• Are they creams or ointments?

  • All the PapayaActivs products are creams. The only real difference between creams and ointments is the amount of oil. Both can be medicinal and therapeutic.
    Creams tend to contain closer to 50% water and 50% oil, while ointments have upwards of 80% oil. The higher concentration of oil in an ointment makes them tend to be much thicker and greasier. Creams on the other hand are generally smoother, non-greasy and absorb much faster.

• Can pawpaw cream go off?

  • Yes, every product has some shelf life beyond which it loses its efficacy. Expiry is a standard accepted time period in which that product will work best.
    Our creams have a good 3 year shelf-life/expiry. All natural, we don't use any harmful preservatives. Instead, we use a range of natural ingredients that not only work synergistically to stabilise the high concentrations of pawpaw in the creams but also have anti-microbial properties.

• Can pawpaw cream be used on babies?

  • Yes, our pawpaw creams are natural, hypoallergenic and suitable for all ages. If you are concerned, we recommend you try first the No Added Fragrance version of our Complete Skincare Cream first, as this still contains our 60% pawpaw concentration and has the minimum number of ingredients while still offering the benefits. You should also patch test before use like with any cream. That being said, all our creams are suitable for babies.

• How does pawpaw cream work?

  • Pawpaw creams use pawpaw (Carica Papaya fruit extract) as a natural active ingredient. Pawpaw is renowned for being a fruit full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and enzymes which give it a natural ability to promote skin renewal through exfoliation and cell turnover. It is skin's best friend.

• What can it be used for?

  • Pawpaw cream is well known for its use in a variety of applications, including helping with minor burns, sunburn, gravel rash, cuts, open wounds, nappy rash, and chafing. PapayaActivs makes creams specifically for providing relief for mild eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rashes, wounds, burns, muscle aches and pains, arthritis, itchy skin, irritated or inflamed skin, and skin dryness, always using ingredients traditionally used in herbal medicine.
    Our Complete Skincare Cream can also be used as a general daily moisturiser, taking advantage of the higher concentrations of our Pawpaw Extract for a variety of benefits including anti-aging, moisturizing, nourishing, inflammation, baby care, and general cosmetic use repairing, restoring and maintaining skin health.

• What is pawpaw cream made of?

  • Our pawpaw creams are all made using natural ingredients combining the famous Pawpaw Extract with other natural ingredients depending on the product. The Pawpaw Extract is an extract of pawpaw from the fruit of the pawpaw tree. Our pawpaw is primarily sourced from the tropical areas of Queensland Australia, where the pawpaw trees thrive in the conditions and climate.

• Is it good on tattoos?

  • All our creams should be fine for use on tattoos. As always we recommend patch testing prior to use though.

• Where can I buy pawpaw cream?

  • PapayaActivs creams are available across Australia in various pharmacies and health stores, distributed by Rener Health and Oborne Health Supplies. Alternatively, they can be purchased directly from us through this website.

• Where is it made?

  • All our products are exclusively manufactured inside Australia.

• Is pawpaw cream good for burns?

  • We specifically created our Wounds and Burns cream to help the healing of mild skin burns and sunburn, using active ingredients like pawpaw and aloe vera traditionally used in herbal medicine. It also helps soothe and relieve skin inflammation, decrease skin irritation and help enhance the healing of milk skin wounds, cuts, scratches and abrasions.

• Is pawpaw cream good for eczema?

  • Yes, our Eczema cream not only decreases symptoms of mild eczema and dermatitis, but also soothes and relieves skin inflammation and irritation, and relieves the itchy prickling sensation associated with eczema and dermatitis. PapayaActivs Eczema cream derives its goodness from the high concentrations of natural active ingredients being used in traditional herbal medicine since centuries.

• Is it ok to use it on my face?

  • Yes, you can use any of our creams on your face. As the face is extremely sensitive, and often a number of other products are used on the face daily, like cleansers and makeup, you may prefer to opt for our Hydrating Facial Cream. It has a lower concentration of pawpaw as compared to our Complete Skincare Cream. The Hydrating Facial Cream is specifically formulated for the more sensitive skin on the face and contains additional ingredients to combat the daily exposure your face has to go through. All the PapayaActivs creams are suitable for the face though.
